Well that would be the military or the pentagon's 'analysis', and not corporate America's or the U.S congress'. So, if they are covering for them, it would be to avoid a world war.
You mean military is antiwar while political establisment warmongering full throttle? I think it is possible, despite the common image of military as dumb marching chumps, they could be now the last conscious people with acces to power.
