So if Gavin's been gone since then, all his media appearances must be fake, right? I was going to link you to this really gay tweet he put out with Justin Trudeau, but--surprise!--it's gone.

In an effort at randomness, I looked their names up on YT and one of the first links was from an event back in June:

It's very well done, but I'll point you to a few things. First, at 0:15, look really closely at the line between the side of his face and the flag. It looks very unnatural, doesn't it? Also, if you get just the right frame when his mouth is open, you can see the side of his face when you should be able to see the flag through his mouth.

A little more obvious is at 1:23. Look at the seal on his podium. Seems more real than real life, doesn't it? The same goes for the podium. Compare Gavin's to Justin's. You can see from the design that they are identical, and why wouldn't they be. But see how very different they appear from each other? Gavin's was filmed in a studio with nice lighting, which is why it looks so much better.

If you take a look at the group shot starting at 0:45, notice that Gavin doesn't touch anyone, but they do stage that very awkward handoff. I'd say that was specifically added to convince us he was there. Look very sharply starting at 0:52. As the folder goes up, Gavin's eyes and head don't follow it. Nor does he ever make eye contact with anyone else, although that's a very natural thing to do and you can see the others doing it. Justin doesn't bother trying. He just looks at the folder, when he should look at Gavin to synchronize his actions.

If all that makes you think Gavin's really gone, take a look at the 1-on-1 interview starting at 1:42. It's flawless, and evidently that's how good DeepFake can be under very controlled circumstances. Frightening, really.
