You can disprove flat earth theory easily with a pair of sun viewing glasses and a caliper and 12 hours. Simply measure the sun as it makes its transit through the sky for a day. If flat earth is correct, then the apparent size should change as it gets farther away (ie at dawn and dusk) and should be at a maximum at noon. You will find that the size stays the same.
