Maybe. The reflected photo doesn't make much sense either. Why is the landscape so bright on the left side? But dark on the other side. Surely if lit by the sun the landscape would be lit uniformly. The ground looks relatively flat there so I don't think the difference in brightness can be explained by the gradient of the ground.
