The politicians loot so much od the public treasury there's nothing to show for it. trillions of dollars each year in government spending and the government is more preoccupied trying to put boots on the neck of small businesses than build anything requiring great ingenuity. Government bureaucrats are very unskilled and have bad judgement. Procurements are poorly conducted and corrupt. Self dealing kickbacks nepotism. They wouldnt have built the hoover dam if they could have looted the money instead.
