I think this is a conspiracy but I'm not sure who or why they would be destroying dog breeds. Even though I understand logically, it is still shocking how retarded we have gotten. For a while, I have known about the damage done to the German Shepherds. The original dog was wolf like, with a straight back and healthy for working.
The modern winning show dogs are crippled, hock walking, roach backs. It is so sad.
And then people buy champions, thinking they are getting high quality, healthy dogs to add to their bloodlines.... and soon the bad genetics are almost everywhere.
These stupid libtards breed for extreme vanity in the show circuit and ruin dogs all over the world!
https://web.archive.org/web/20170308090404/http://www.louisdonald.com/the-true-back-of-the-german-shepherd-dog.html look how they have crippled these dogs compared to 100 years ago. Of course, all these detailed pages are now offline probably having offended people. And you can only really see it in archives.
But now it's personal. I have discovered that many many Rottweiler lines in my country have been infested in recent years by Serbian rottweilers.
Mein gott im Himmel!
Rottweilers and their predecessors have been around for thousands of years. They are continually in the top 10 most popular dog breeds. They have done every job imaginable in their long history from war dog, drovers, butchers dogs, gaurd dogs, search and rescue, service dogs, etc etc. Due to their build and temperament they are extremely versatile..
More updates below to show the pics.
Ok, so the American rottweiler is often larger and longer, similar to the Roman Rottweiler variety. These guys are fine, love them, very sweet looking. They have a bit more rounded features, almost showing more of their Mastiff history.
The purebred German Rottweilers cannot be mistaken for a cross. They ideally have perfectly balanced features for beauty and working. They also have great working temperament.
Then the Serbian variety got popular. People loved the extreme look. I don't know for sure whether it was caused by extreme inbreeding or whether people are correct in saying that they crossed other breeds in. I really want to get a DNA test of those Serbian Pug-Rotts to see if they are pureblooded.
Serbian 'Rottweilers' look like PUGS and have generally been selected for a more aggressive temperature, with very few standards, especially with regards to working ability. They have more trouble breathing and with heat when they are a more extreme pug-type and can have skeleton issues. So sad. They can't work well.
This is a Serbian Champion! It's nose is not only pug-like but also up turned! https://www.instagram.com/p/CUW_F9Bs6ak/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Wow, thousands of years old and the Serbian defect has spread across the world due to the popularity with a few show people.
Looking across the country, I saw a decent selection of Roman-type, usually cheaper and used by families as companions. And I saw most that talked about their bloodlines showed Serbians, and at least one parent with a Serbian head. This is terrible :(
I found one good German breeder, I think she is a legit Deutch person. I had no idea the fad had spread so quickly and widely.
The last note on dogs - I have noticed a HUGE increase in Cane Corsos, Argentinan Dogos, and Presa Canarios (they are large/giant basically fighting dogs) with the increase in Human population Diversity. For some reason, Diversity really likes Presa and Corsos.
I have nothing against these dogs, it's just a strange correlation since I thought Diversity was afraid of dogs.
Danes are awesome.
I know an experienced trainer and breeder who trains them as Service Dogs. Example, some people have mobility issues or unsteady gates and sometimes need stability.
Since you have had Danes, can you tell me from personal experience whether fawnequins and blue harlequin and merle harlequin have more internal health problems than black harlequins because their genetic base coat is not black?? I have heard rumors online but no concrete experience.
Usually the color bashing comes from uptight show old biddies so their opinion is suspect to me.
So I have to say anyone who breeds for these off colors are definitely BYBs...but there are some color patterns you end up with anyways that are not in the "standard" like piebald. My breeder has a few of these, but they look just as good as her other colors structure wise.
My breeder has a good way of looking at color, and one of the big reasons I like her. She looks at their structure and temperament first, color last. Given certain colors win more in the show world. But a dog can have a pretty color, but have terrible structure. She also picks puppies for you, based on what you want from a dog. Not your color exactly. She will take your color into consideration if the dog is a good fit for your home. We ended up get our harlequin from her and that was what we wanted. We have learned not all harls are pretty. Some markings are kind of ugly.
The weird thing with Danes is that there are these color families you are supposed to adhere to in breeding, to produce the colors in the standard. When you don't adhere to this, you end up with these funny colors. But they are also not recognized, so why would anyone want to breed those colors except for money? Blues in all breeds seem to have many health issues. We had a blue Weimaraner and she has skin issues galore. Same can go for Danes. I rarely see blue Danes in the ring, but ever. There are good blue Danes, but I think it's harder work to find a well-bred one, than the other plethora of colors. Black, fawn, mantle, harl. Now fortunately Merle has actually been recognized by the AKC...when it wasn't initially. Which honestly made NO SENSE, because it is a naturally occurring color when you breed harl to black. They typically have to carry merle though. Our breeder also does color testing to see what is carried, but not physically present.
I hear that sometimes Danes are bit harder to do for service dogs. At least my breeder does not do that. She knows hers are a lot more lovey dovey dogs, and sometimes that can cause issues service dog wise. Ours LOVES people and wants to greet all the humans and animals (even if they aren't friendly). I think ours might be a good therapy dog if she wasn't so hyper. But hyper happy dog. Sunshine comes out her butt she is so happy. Just like her mom. And the other one isn't well bred, but more mellow.
My breeder has also said there are some people who breed those off colors that have beautiful dogs, but it is rare. Our first dane we got from someone who did those colors. We actually got a blue harl first, and he was a fucking train wreck. We took him back. He ate poop outside, other animals. And then my husband tried to stop him by saying no...and well he screamed like he was beating him. So yep, nope took him back to her. I'm honestly shocked the shitty breeder took her back. And then also let us get another one (since she wasn't giving our money back) Fortunately she was a good puppy. Given, she is a lot diff than our well-bred girl. She vomits randomly, other dog does not. She's also very skittish, but our well-bred is bomb proof. Our breeder actually does ENS and puppy culture which helps with that a ton. They use ENS for military and police dogs. It's quite cool to learn about. She posts so much on her group about what she does with her puppies. I honestly won't ever get a dog without that now. It makes potty training easier, all training really.
I realized I typed a lot, probably some you might already know about. But dog talk is fun...Everyone in the purebred snob group is so...lefty and gross. So it's fun to talk about here. I guess you'd say I'm pretty passionate. Do you do any dog sports? We've tried a few, and I wanted to dabble in showing...but haven't. Our breeder was going to breed our dog (per our agreement), but not anymore so we are spaying her. But she did have most of her health testing done, excellent hips!! :) I thought that was cool.
Here is a photo of Nyx and Gaia - https://files.catbox.moe/yayozh.jpg Nyx - full body https://files.catbox.moe/9fhyvr.jpg Gaia - full body https://files.catbox.moe/gxxpqq.jpg Gaia has about 35 lbs on Nyx.
This is Nyx's dad, quite hideous now that I know better. I think a blue harl it's called? Her mom was brindle... https://files.catbox.moe/9zr6ro.jpg
