I don't like Christianity anymore for this. I bring this up and the Bible scholars rush in with weak sauce arguments defending the Bible (there's nothing in the Bible on dealing with oppressive tyrants)
Western Christianity was censored by the Roman state, probably later on even further by subsequent Conclaves to aid what ever tyrant holding the power.
SInce early Christians were the ones to burn Rome and not Nero, it's likely it did have something to fight oppression.
