Pyramid - the shape that you can pile rocks and they are least likely to fall down over centuries.
Basically, the prevalence of pyramids is confirmation bias. Everything else has fallen down by now.
The prevalence of Egyptian art is similar. It is made so nothing sticks out and breaks.
That's why there is so much of it compared to greek and roman art. So all that is left of European art is found trash like Venus de Milo with no arms.
Pyramids are the only place the ancients cut rocks with precision?
The cut rocks in pyramids are just as impressive as the cut rocks used the the walls, temples, and fortresses. Every bit as impressive to put a multi hundred ton stone in an arch as in a pyramid.
Difference is, those are aren't standing anymore because they don't follow the 'big wide base, narrows to a point' philosophy of ideal rock stacking.
