That's complete bullshit. Any egyptologist who says the sphinx is 7,000 years old is because they're FROM Egypt meaning they're Muslim and follow the Quran which says the whole earth is no more than 7,000 years old.
The water erosion clearly places the age of the sphinx before the last ice age
I linked to one of the few people to ever publish a paper on the matter, and who literally brought the theory to people’s attention with John Anthony West starting in the 90s. He admits his dating is the minimum age based on the water erosion, and acknowledges the strength of the other arguments, such as Leo alignment placing it at 10,500 or even one cycle earlier at 36,500 years ago.
