Jackie killed JFK and the WTC towers were turned to dust by nuclear munitions.
What I would hope for is this: if they could understand that "They" could set off nuclear explosions in the most densely populated city in the US, and "They" could mind-kontrol an assassin to kill her own husband, and "They" could convince nearly everyone that these were laughable ideas, then there isn't much you should put past "Them". That new worldview would change their appraisal of all other current events and historical situations.
There are two big problems, though. First, even generally awake people literally lack the capability to imagine such things are true. You must be able to imagine something could be true to properly evaluate the evidence.
Second, the alteration to their worldview that this demands makes even generally awake people unbearably discomforted. It is so atavistically disturbing that--surprise reversal!--they find they don't have the time/research skills to investigate and validate these ideas.
