Yes handler plays big role. But it's not like Pig. You watch that film? He has a truffle pig. He knows where the truffles are, but he likes the damn pig. It's his friend. A truffle pig digs the truffles by scent and their instincts.
Dogs gain instinct. They smell that shit they know it's there. Yes handler is keen. They know their dog. They know what to detect when the dog gets a scent.
Yes there is bullshit as well. Planted and all that crap. But okay nature, wolves in the wild can get that scent miles and miles and miles away think it's something like a 100 miles away depending on the conditions. They'll hone in on a herd.
No, these dogs work or they wouldn't use them. Hell I've seen them work. Seen them catch drugs as I am sitting there. I was sitting on a coach crossing the border, right behind a smuggler who stashed that shit in the toilet and the seats in front, a couple girls under their seat. That dog was on it found both. Two fucking bricks. Wrapped in shit, completely wrapped. Hell they stunk of shit, coated in something else. But that dog got it, got both. The idiot was dumb, but he removed that shit from his bag. Went to toilet, hid it. Put another under the seats in front, taped it.
But they sniff that shit. Find bodies. Find cash. Find bombs. All kinds of shit. It ain't an act.
