Hollowing out the military.
Served. USAF 920th Air Rescue Wing, 917th Tactical Fighter Squadron. 12 years.
The bodies and minds they need don't meet muster.
The average American TODAY is not the same as average Americans 40 years ago.
Know this by living it.
A shame.
What worries me is, high schools are eliminating the requirement to show you can read, write, and do arithmetic in order to graduate. And yet the military gets people who dropped out of high school AND aren't physically fit to serve either. Really this is Rome updated, and the barbarian hordes are going to eat our F'ing lunch. Which is why the emphasis on billion dollar planes, because the ground troops are going to be worthless. And that is what the elite WANT. The guys drafted for WWII were maybe undernourished but at least not fat asses. The army fed them and built them up. The Vietnam era guys were healthy and got fit. But today's vaxed fatties are going to keel over long before combat.
The commander for Naval recruitment calls this generation of young adults the Nintendo generation.
