thats actually very legit and telling. i was in a relationship a little over a year with a woman that had a VERY VERY damaged childhood from her father beating the shit out of her mom, her brothers and constantly backhanded her. she was psychologically damaged with bipolar, ptsd, anxiety attacks, panic attacks etc. she RESENTED HIM and ya know what? i would too! he's an utter piece of shit.
but she never dealt with it....she lived her live in resentment and never opened up to anybody talking deeply about it. she rebelled ANY TIME a psychiatrist or psychologist would get too deep and she didnt let it out. she let it follow her and constantly blamed things happening in life because of her dad. her dad hasn't been around now for more than 15 or 20 years. she harbored this shit all through middle and high school and beyond.
we were in a GREAT relationship but shit started creeping up on her. out of nowhere , things hit her and we agreed the relationship wouldn't survive it because she has to work on "loving herself first" so she can love another person.
so all those words were bullshit when she said she loved me for that year. I gave her everything I could (logically of course, not simp style) was there to hear her rants and was there to talk. I made her as comfortable as ever. but ya know what? it wasn't enough. people gotta deal with their OWN shit.
my point is that you can judge somebody on how they treat their mother or father. especially father. and if you dont have a father figure in your life ? you can spiral the fuck out of control very quick
I was in a relationship with a wonderful woman. But she didn't respect her own father stemming from her parents' divorce. And because of her failure to reconcile or come to terms with her own father, she was unable to respect any other man by extension, including me.
