I have a theory that all thriller novelists tend to follow conspiracies.

Crichton had a bunch in his stories (including weather modification and disasters for economic ESG)

Rollins does it in his stories.

I haven't read Koontz but doesn't surprise me.

I remember 9/11 hijacker conspiracies were even in another thriller which centered around internet recruiting etc.
