It was a prank so he could take time off without admitting to his subscribers he was doing so. Additionally his company attempted to use this to drum up more subscriptions and donations to “fight the system” that did this. Texts confirming have been posted by Owen Benjamin.

I saw the texts purported to be from this situation by Owen Benjamin on Gab, I linked to them. I give credence to as much as anything else these days, which is why I made the thread.
