Virginia gold tobacco (seeds on ebay, the most common strain people seem to recommend) is easy to grow and easy to store for years, I don't even smoke it but I store it as another backup currency as people who do smoke would be looking for it, plus it's organic. One of mine outside right now is over 8ft tall with big elephant leaves and pink trumpet flowers on top, after maybe 90 days. Then takes 4-12 months to cure (just drying by hanging or toss it in a cardboard box and let it sit 5 years, seems easy to store, gets better with age).
High CBD strains of hemp is also a good one since 10's of millions now use CBD oil. You have to take a bit more care with curing and storing hemp though, and it will degrade after 2-4 years. This plant is also more likely to be stolen, and it can be pungent and draw attention, people might think it's high THC.
So lately I go with tobacco since I don't even use it, I just pack it all away for a rainy day. I'd go with alcohol but I'd drink it all and wake up in jail.
Just a few extra options to store away for trading or CBD for medical use, once you have all your vegetables going.
