Ever heard of Brien Forester? He is one of the top archeologists in the field especially when it comes to mega possible cataclysm.....So maybe thats a good start point for you. He has about 2000 hours of video, and evidence on Youtube.Thats for the Ancient stuff....

New stuff...is mudflood. Jon Levi is a good start there

Also I believe your theory is also correct. They were indeed Energy. And technology. The obelisks were part of it too.
