It's not crazy. I live in a very old village, people are honest with their intentions. I couldn't count the number of times I've been targeted by groups of people that took a disliking to me for whatever reason. I have the luxury of them being very open about their disliking for me. I've also had times when people have acted like my friend and their contempt hasn't been obvious.

Personally I carry a slingshot to shoot rats, and if the opportunity presents itself I suppose I could use it to shoot an intruder. ;)
