So the "Q" messages mostly just cause people to think about things and investigate subjects on their own.

One suggested letter "Q" is enough to tempt those who consent to it to respond "in the name of"; hence being herded under an umbrella that is defined, not by oneself; not by those who oppose it; but by the hidden hand of those who made the suggestion.

What you talk about (doing on your own) requires resisting the suggestions of others.

how this 'trap' works?

Choice (suggestion) towards choice (consent) contract law; which when consented to allows those suggesting to define (idolatry); redefine (revisionism) and contradict (talmudic reasoning) the meaning of the suggested at will. Those who step into this "trap" lack comprehension of it; since they ignore perceivable for suggestions defined by others.
