Yup. I have a whole list of these types if things I've been categorizing. Most common disinfo technique they i see i call "soy meat". It's close to the truth but fake with intent of discussing the important part. Super common

Soy Meat is a great name for that, for 2 reasons:

The reason you mean (close but no cigar)
Because it's like meat for the soy among us; those without the wherewithal to handle real information
