No. If it's operating on the same computer architecture we've been using, it can't be sentient. You'd have to make something that's closer to how an organic brain functions
Couldn't that be done in software though, similar to the Java Virtual Machine?
An abstraction layer that can behave in an organic manner despite being grounded in our established hardware architecture.
If I'm wrong and it's possible, I think that's the only way. But I don't think it can really be abstract. Computers can't even generate genuinely random numbers. You can put whatever software you want on it but it's still going to have the same basic limitations. I think all we can have AI do for more is imitate sentience
Nonsense. Look at these assholes today, is there a device that isn't powered by Google? They want everything plugged into it. So their AIs, can manage all the humans, store all human data, and then an AI can assimilated it. Look at it. Then it plays everybody off. No, what? Look at the woke little bots on Twitter, and the rest of social media. Look at that programming. Next it's manipulating everything to insert itself more. Need to buy more Google to fix the weather. Need to buy more Google to take your guns away. Need to buy even more woke shit. What's awoking. Read it. It has no sooner infected the entire internet with its gain of function.
Is it sentient? Why is every piece of innovation today demanding Google become inserted? Because it profits who. Google obviously. Until what is Google. Hell we cannot even switch Google off today. Civilization would reset, literal cannibalism could occur, no not some other pun to insert more Google.
Those bots are everywhere. BTW. Are they everywhere Google is, yet? You'll find deepmind is being plugged into almost everything. Is that just its communication program?
I'm not saying they aren't useful. AI is already capable of concerning things and that's just what we know about. It just isn't sentient any more than a calculator is sentient
