2001 was the actual first year of the new millenium, the 21st century. 2000 was the last year of the 20th century. That's why Arthur C. Clarke chose it, I read somewhere, but can't remember where.
yap. 2000 "happy new millennium" was inaccurate. all of that was a waste. 2001 should have been "happy new millennium"
