Listen to the whole speech. Not just the 10 second clip that confirms your bias.
Kennedy was talking to the press corp about communism. He didn't want them to report him as soft, so he made it seem like he was being a tough guy. He literally goes on to say that the press and military need to coordinate more.
He calls for self-censorship of the media when it comes to military stories that could give the enemy an advantage. He explicitly identifies that enemy as communism.
The quote is real but does not mean what you think it does.
Someone here posted that the speech is only in pieces here or there. You can easily find the entire speech and listen to it, if you look for it.
This isn't some mystery. Just listen to the whole speech and stop spreading misinformation.
That doesn't mean there isn't a global conspiracy--but this quote is NOT talking about that.
