let’s start here: was peter the first pope? yes or no? many will say, no he didn’t claim authority however catholics say yes. Was the catholic church, who claim they were the first church, the MOTHER of all churches, did they build a church atop the place where peter was crucified, yes or no? Peter, first pope
“Upon this rock (translation from petras, peter) i will build my church, the first church.”
Okay, I'll bite. Was Peter the first pope? Yes. As for authority, well, the early church tossed dice to see who would replace Judas among the Apostles, so things didn't exactly have a rigorous procedure in place. Nevertheless, when the controversy about whether you had to maintain the jewish law or not came up, the issue was decided by him in concert with others in a council. Admittedly, Peter had some issues, and Paul had to rebuke him for not eating with Christian gentiles.
As for where Peter is buried, those bones most likely are his under the basilica, but with the fall of Rome to barbarians, lots of things got screwy and they could be from later centuries placed there to look like they were from the 1st Century. How this bears into any authority placed in Peter or his successors, I don't see the connection really.
I was raised catholic, baptized catholic, went to a catholic school, did most of the sacraments, got my knuckles whacked, I had 4 aunts that were nuns, one was a principal of the largest catholic school in new york. “he who has an ear let him hear”, It probably all sounds like jibberish and that’s fine, I don’t condemn catholic people, but one thing I do know, the roman catholic church is the mother of all churches that is mentioned in revelations.
speaking of that, I know i’m programmed and I have no stable belief system, constantly double minded but I have always made “observations” that most of my family did not see the same way, I don’t even prescribe to “christianity” prob more agnostic or gnostic, banned books are a trip, books that are said to be “fairy tales”. But then I have experience, traveled the world, things that happen to me that cannot be explained, even my license plate numbers lol. I have a deep understanding of the world that cannot be described with words. I don’t think I am better just “different”, some call me retarded others a savant. ha, i’m like whats the fn difference? one thing I do know, we are all connected to a hive mind, also (lol) endless beehive symbolism at the vatican. Vatican Beehive thanks for the conversation though, enjoyed it.

You may be right, I will admit, but people have been ascribing things in the book of Revelation for about 1,900 years now.
