I hope you're right. I do feel that being an ethical consumer in America is a luxury few are afforded. Far too many Americans are living hand to mouth and put price above ethics out of necessity, and as we both know, those shitty Chinese made products are always going to be cheaper.
I'm a huge fan of nationalized manufacturing. Unfortunately for us, the politicians that run on campaign promises of bringing manufacturing back to America are completely owned by the companies sending those jobs overseas.
So in order to bring those jobs home, we must first completely dismantle and outlaw the lobbying industry. Which will NEVER HAPPEN.
It is a luxury. Even though I rage quit zerowaste, I have many of the same habits die to allergies, and it's frugal.
American jobs are very important, but so is making the things yourself that you can. This will be different for everyone due to their needs, and comfort level.
The second hand market is getting so big, it's being attacked with regulations hurting the peer to peer sales industries. Lobbying for big business has to go, but I can't see how we get our issues to the representatives without permission lobbying how, and why those so called harmless bills are in no way shape or form harmless.
