I guess knives were invented before the first human was born? Scissors?

They used rocks. Sharpened flints. Or Obsidian. Jade. Then Copper. Etc.

But it needs severing. But it has perfected better procedures as the science has advanced. Otherwise there are health risks, apart from just having ugly navels. Deadly and such.
