Part of the asch experiment is that if even one dissenter is present the rate of compliance with the group can drop drastically. Of course, that also relies on the subject having at least some differences from the groupthink to begin with.
The more dissenters you have the more people you can wake up. Removing bots, algorithmic manipulation, shadowbans, and censorship can wake people up.
Good question. Maybe finding that out it the intention? Perhaps eliminating the majority of the 38% is the intention. The fact that the percentage has not changed in however many years since the Asch experiment, plus Plato's observations, suggests that there is something more to this than either nature or nurture. That there is neither a racial, nor even a genetic component at play, or the number would have changed. Nor is there a learned component, as the very basis of society and knowledge has changed quite drastically, yet again, the number seems to remain the same.
It's quite the philosophical, theological, psychological, and even the eugenical conundrum.
I know that was rhetorical, but I have sauce for that!
62% will always believe the "Experts" no matter how ridiculous the claim:

We've now witnessed this on a global scale and can confirm the accuracy of the Asch experiment, as well as Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
62% of the population does not think or stand up to authority. Ever.
Until we deal with the talking heads who are telling them what to think, 62% of the population is going to continue to believe anything they say.

What happens when those 62% die?
