My guess it is the ones shelling and shooting at villages. It is reasonable to think the aggressors are responsible for the vast majority of civilian casualties, just as I think the Russians have caused the majority of civilian deaths this year.

If you have an actual issue with their methodology or honesty, feel free to explain. I would not accept an argument that nobody is in a position to provide an honest count, so therefore any reports are vastly overstated by orders of magnitude. (As if the UN would be trying to support Donetsk and Luhansk in the first place...)

It's not a black or white issue. That organization, being a collective of thousands of people, most certainly does not have my absolute trust. It doesn't matter the degree to which I think the things they publish are credible.
