I saw one at night from a great distance in 2003. Looked like a star except stars don't move in right angles over what must've been 10s of miles in 2 seconds.
Yeah, I would describe it more as a planet. Ive seen it 2 or 3 times in my life. They are a tad brighter than a star, but they definitely just look like a point of light up there. I grew up relatively near wright-pat so Ive seen some strange things, seen lots of jets, and other things that were likely man made.
But when I was a kid, I seen it happen 2 times I believe. At least once for sure. Looking at some glowing object and watching it go mach 20+ after being stationary for several minutes.
The last time I seen one was about 10 years ago on the east coast. Looking over the ocean I seen what I thought was a planet but I couldnt figure out which one. While sitting there and staring after what must have been a good 30 minutes. It zooms off across the horizon and phases out of the atmosphere in the blink of an eye. It wasnt no natural phenomena or man made craft. 30 years ago I didnt think it was humans flying it, and I still dont think it is today.
I believe they exist, I also believe that the powers that be would like to tell us, but I am not sure how religious people would react. Its very possible institutions would crumble over night. I couldnt imagine what the reaction would be if people realized their creator was not some all seeing powerful god, but a race of god like beings. The guy who created star trek, gene roddenberry was in the airforce for a good part of his career flying planes in ww2 and then as a crash investigator for the military for another 10 years. I cant help but wonder if what he knew helped contribute to the show. Almost a 100 years ago, hollywood was showing us technology that we are living with today.
Arthur Clark wrote his famous book "Rendezvous with Rama" after living in sri lanka and becoming fascinated with the epic of prince Rama.
Even stargate, one of my favorite shows, was inspired by Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the gods. I was not even surprised when I discovered this.
Thousands of years ago..... they werent ufos.
Our ancestors knew exactly what they were, and who was piloting them..... it's funny if you think the greek legends have any truth to them... in the older legends. Each god has their own flying chariot. These flying chariots were mainly constructed by one god and he had a school where he would train demigods to fly the chariots for their masters. Maybe some of these old legends have a little bit of truth to them..... they all seem to be eerily similar.
I've seen plenty of stars on the move. We've got some undisclosed high altitude vehicles.
I wanna see one again. I live where I can again now
I like kicking back and sky looking at night. Rural life.
