That seems to be series of mischaracterisations, but feel free to show me things to change my mind.

You might need to elaborate on what you mean by "mischaracterisations"...

The protest itself was not a trap; the trap was set in response to the protest. Encouraging people to attend a protest is not the same as coaxing people into a trap. Trump condemned the violence and the people who committed violent acts, including his supporters who were jailed. This is not the same as turning his back on his supporters. Your series of statements lacks these nuances, so I think they are mischaracterisations.

...i.e. "mischaracterizations" as we English-speakers spell it.

Please explain how I am wrong.

Ways you are wrong:

  • Advocating for a political demonstration does not make someone responsible for what happens there. I am open about my belief that a legitimate way to participate in the political process is to attend protests. That does not make me responsible for what happens at these events. In Trump's case, it could undermine the political movement in which his supporters are participating

  • Asking for campaign contributions is not a form of begging. If that were true, Bernie Sanders would be guilty of begging the working class for money. The money should be spent to further the political cause to which the donators are sending their money and not redirected to assist incarcerated people.

  • It is not a question of being busy with other matters or not having enough time.

  • You believing that the COVID-19 shots are more detrimental than the disease itself or wanting to tie Donald Trump to a failed endeavour is irrelevant to this matter.
