The person on the video says it's through the telephone , but it might be through the wi-fi modem or even through cell phone antennae if it is on of those new high speed systems like 5g with close clustered antennae.
Yeah the output seems to high for a cellular device unless they have some new bursting capability. The page might load a bunch more trackers which triggers wifi activity (plausible). The idea of a beam antenna spending the energy to target at a distance seems unlikely especially in populated areas where there would be a demand for the bandwidth.
5 G and simple modems with multiple antennae can focus beams . I think it is called beamforming and it is how the technology works. It forms a beam towards the phone , it is not spending additional resources besides the fact that it might output a little more energy in form of a pulse.
