Langan is outside of his expertise.

That's always true.

His only expertise is in drinking. He's accomplished nothing of value in his entire miserable (literally, not an insult) life.

edit * - ok, he did accidentally accomplish something of value - he's the poster child for IQ in no way equaling intelligence nor competence.

I hear he was a good bouncer working at the bar too.

Just not someone that can speak with "expertise" on most any academic subject. He's, by default, out of his depth.
