Could you just disconnect your antenna?
It probably has an internal chip antenna. But no doubt it has a relay to turn off the car which could be bypassed. Probably also best to pull the power from the module to keep it from phoning home. The hard part is finding it
All chips post 2007 have a backdoor entry. You however can make a smart car "dumb". If you're willing.
Wouldn't something like an RF, wifi, bluetooth, or other signal detectors work? I've been thinking about this, but haven't really done the complete research or experiments to test it for myself.
