If anyone wants to know why people fell so easily for Remember the Maine, the Lusitania, Gulf of Tonkin, incubator babies, WMDs, and every other war-inducing hoax, just see the fevered hysteria gripping the Ukrainian war madness all over media & social media right now. (twitter.com)

Incubator babies?

Iraq War Part I excuse. The narrative was the Iraqis were going into hospitals and ripping the babies from the incubators and leaving them to die. A child witness even testified before congress. Turns out she was lying and the whole thing a fabrication. But it had the desired result: the American public became eager for war and they got it.

The icing on the cake was that the "witness" to these incubator atrocities was the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the US. Very convenient.

He's been giving a good realistic take on the Russia/Ukraine in his Locals videos. Also, there is a "Hush Hush" series which discusses "conspiracy theories". All solid content.

Or, Hitler, Mao or the Tutsi Genocides?

The holocaust was not used to drum up war support in America as the story was censored until the last years of the war. We fought two proxy wars with China (Korea and Vietnam), but the Chinese democide was never a selling point that I'm aware of. Tutsi? We didn't intervene in that and nobody cared until it was over. Genocide is happening in North Korea right now. Nobody gives a shit. The media and public's outrage is carefully directed.

The holohoax was not censored until the last years of the war - it was flat out made up in the last years of the war.

You seen the video of the guy who went through many early 20th century newspapers that were already peddling the "6 million" bs.

Facts

permalink parent save report block reply

Stop reading twitter. Stop reading Reddit. Stop watching the news. Simple.

Not like you can do anything about a war in Ukraine. If you joined up like you possibly can. Not sure if they're paying for your travel some places are if you had experience. You'd just be sent to the front line. Because Volunteers get to go first. More human shields.

The social media news is almost 90% bullshit. The stories are literally absurd for the sake of appealing to absurdity. There are some facts misplaced into skewed propaganda. Understandable and when it's network coverage it tends to be much better with the narratives run. Unavoidable when a national broadcast. But avoid social media. Reddit is full of literal assholes like Twitter and Facebook. They literally shit all over people where they have obvious agendas to bait users for the sake of flagging them by submitting content that is bullshit.

He is comparing coverage to former World Wars and other globe changing events. People regular people don't even care. Ask them. They only care when it matters. When the nation goes to war, or war hits home, or when it affects their lifestyles. Of course many are programmed by any information seen never questioning much else. So who are all the other assholes on social media? Literal shills, entire troll farms, where the public rarely gets to speak unless it also echoes. It has flagged everything and everybody else.

I think in the past there was also far more free speech. Let's rewind before social media. Less bias. Sometimes more awareness. Due to a past history and society's shaped by war. Let's go back to the 30s or even the 50s. Awareness of war its meanings involved. Instead of twitter and the sheltered societies watching superheroes. But it has completely changed today with social media. Literally the dumb leading the blind because the deaf shouldn't hear. Programming on a scale designed to completely manipulate.

Keep in mind, the No WMDs WAS the narrative after the fact. Pay no attention that the US had sold Iraq WMDs to use against Iran, that Saddam had used gas on the Kurds AND SHOT SCUDS into Saudi Arabia and ISRAEL at the beginning of the war, AND WikiLeaks revealed that Mustard Gas was found.

Iraq HAD WMDs.

that was just the pretext, as soon as saddam tried to undermine the petrodollar system (and by extension the Dollar's Global Reserve Currency Status) back in 2000 by selling his oil for euros instead of USD his country was set for "regime-change" by the US.

I keep saying it didn't matter. If you had credible Intel or not so credible Intel that Iraq as a nation who had just attacked another nation was trying to acquire them. Wouldn't you simply remove that threat rather then wait until they do.

The actual facts are Syria, Libya all had WMDs. So do other nations in the region not disclosed. Others may have other nations protection. Where are American bases these at times might have capacity. Iraq had some biological weapons regardless.

The entire non WMDs, was simply a presumed change in policy. Withdraw not. To go back in ISIS. All it did was offer the good cop. Because the bad cop had done that.

Of course conspiracy has seized on it and we have since been flooded with apologists, and phobists. But it's not like it wasn't, inevitable. It was simple causality.

We sold them chemical weapons back in the 80s, but that's not what Colin Powell was talking about when he went in front of Congress to lie about yellowcake uranium.

What I recall was Powell testifying in front of the UN for 3 days. He covered a myriad of topics that occurred during the 90s that Bill Clinton didn't address until he got in impeachment trouble. Attempted assassination of George H. Bush, anti-air craft weapons locking onto US planes, playing hide-n-seek with UN Weapon Inspectors...the WMDs was just a quick media blurb they could show the stupefied masses pictures of so they could nod their heads to understand why the Gulf War was restarting. Which is exactly what this was as he was failing to abide by his agreements to end that war. It should had been called Gulf War 2, once Saddam was overthrown within the first 3 days declare victory and leave, Bush let the Democrats talk him into "re"building Iraq.

The goalposts of WMDs shifted to fit the narrative. The media was selling war on the pretext of nuclear weapons. SCUDs do not cause "mass destruction", they're ordinance no different from Tomahawks.

They're on the official UN weapons list as WMDs and so are Tomahawks.

That's what moving the goalposts means, numbnuts. Just like how "vaccine" got redefined such that vitamin D qualifies as a vaccine now.

Sure, change the subject to a misinformation example and ignore the fact that he launched a WMD at us at the beginning of the invasion WHICH IS THE POINT OF THE WHOLE CONVERSATION!

Stay focused: He... had... W... M... Ds

Do you get it or is your ego not going to allow you to accept that you bought a lie?
