We could ask them why. Thinking cynically, it could be that it's more important for all the media outlets to be in harmony than it is to have more English language voices, so they let the big players handle everything.
I think the reason places like
RT http://rt.com
were taken off the air is not that they were disinformation sources, but rather they would constantly cover things the government media didn't want people to know about.
