There are some things our government is very good at. For instance: doing something shitty, lying about it, and then accusing their adversaries of doing the exact thing they just lied about not doing.

Somehow very few people seem to notice this pattern (or at least remember it from 1 news cycle to the next). The irony is that when people do start to notice, their immediate reaction is to view the "enemy" as innocent, and the become sympathetic to a group that may in fact be hostile.
