At this point shouldn't we just assume that the planet culls the human population every 100 years? Seems awfully cyclical and with the idea that hygiene had improved between each "plague".

I saw the argument that Christians had said no-no to cleaning and using helpful herbs but I am at a fucking loss as it is biblical to keep ones self clean (bathing is promoted) and it is also suggested that herbs are specifically to heal the nations. So to blame this on Christians.... Perhaps they too hadn't read the book.
