100% agreed. When people say they saw something on "the internet" ask them what site. The answer will be facebook, reddit or one of a handful of sites that are 100% controlled, run and shaped by thought police moderation and AI.
I'm old (40) and I remember pitying my friends who thought AOL was "the internet". Using a browser and surfing www felt so goddamn open and free. The reality is that the www is a walled garden of pravda bullshit; unless you are actively staying on top of browsers, search engines and sites like these.
