I genuinely don't understand how what she said was wrong. The ADL and other Jewish groups have long maintained that the Nazi's categorization of Jewishness as being a race is incorrect, it seems like Whoopi was advancing the same argument to me, no?
You can't have this discussion on Plebbit because muh thought crime, and any wrong-think no-no spaces are full of antisemites screaming about how duh joos control the weather and other nonsense, can we actually have a discussion here? Why is what she said wrong?
Because it brought up the topic of how Jews are white/not white, depending on how it advances their cause or supports an argument. To advance "muh Holocaust" they are nonwhite, and victims of Nazi racism. However, Jewish spokesmen will often claim they are white when saying "as a white person, we have to end white (spin wheel)" which of course they have no intention of doing as a group, or individually, themselves. A thousand variations of this.
I'm going to get massacred for writing this next bit, but genetically Jews are white, culturally, they are not. That's a whole disagreement on the wignat side of things about if Jews are white or not too.
Yeah I mean all those broadly "Indo-European" language groups or people identified as Caucasian are more related than they are to say Africans and Asians, I mostly understand the complexity of a notion like "race". I guess what I should have asked is something more like "Why do normies think Whoopi said something wrong?".
It's one of those things that they don't want said is all, because trivializing Nazi persecution of the Jews as "white on white" crime reducing the Jews ability to grift of their victimization.
It's kinda like how you are never supposed to mention Jihad, only the response to Jihad, that being the Crusades.
