I know this theory has been bandied about for months, but honestly it checks out. Thoughts?

COVID has yet to be recorded taking all sense of taste or smell.
Influenza also does not completely remove taste and smell. Those senses are just suppressed.
Whatever you wanna call it. I personally could not taste or smell anything for a week. It was highly strange and it reminded me of the saying, 'turns to ash in your mouth.' It was like my brain knew the taste but I physically couldnt touch it. Idk what to call that and I never wanna feel it again. It was weird and I'm dramatic but I don't think im overreacting in my assumption based on experience.
