Using solid scientific facts to argue no longer matters for, what Prof of clinical psychology Mattias Desmet at U. of Ghent calls “mass formation”. The narrative gives meaning to people’s lives and now direct’s their pre-covid unsourced anxiety towards a concrete source, as well as giving a sense of comradship, group bonding. It is founded on emotion. I would rather call it a religion, “covidism”, in the sense of giving people meaning to their lives according to a worldview which is fundamentally what religions offer. Covidism, however, is a primitive transhuman religion based on stupidity, that is to say, on those following the laws of stupid people according to the economic-historian, Carlo Cipolla. Stupid people ignore solid evidence based facts according to reason. The world is in trouble and heading for totaliatarianism. It is a matter of time that the so-called democratic countries instutute their Orwellian Ministries of Truth to silence journals like the BMJ.
