Alot of symbolism in the bible is suspect of being changed. For example the death and rebirth ritual of Christ at the age of 33 is incredibly suspect because of the Masonic focus on the number 33.
I've never thought about it...but think of the "27 Club". That is based upon the return of Saturn after 27 years.
Is there a 33 equivalent? Maybe it's something astrological.
I've also had the thought that 33 could refer to dualistic trinities, and that there is an inverse to Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The "dark Mother" could even be Lilith (I Pet Goat, II seems to allude to that).
On a Kabbalistic level, it may even just be the top three nodes on the sefirot and the bottom three in the qliphoth.
