At some point, they are going to pull the plug on the power grid and/or the internet.
Crypto is a great way to avoid USD, but its existence is also purely based on the Internet. If the Internet is broken up, even into a few regions, existing cryptocurrencies are fucked. This is an underrated and almost entirely unknown problem WRT crypto.
They cannot unplug gold and silver. They can come and try to take it, but they can't just remotely destroy it or hack it with quantum computers or turn off the Internet or power to fuck it over.

Excellent point. A more complex technology generally has more points of failure. What good is crypto in a jungle? Not even silver will help you there. Food and water are the most important.
