same reason they had them in the gun that killed brandon lee? because they are lethal?
i think the better question is why was the gun ever turned on ppl that quite clearly do not appear in the film.
That was my first thought. And you'd think after he shot the first person hedve stopped, and not gone on to shoot two people.
I would like more details to emerge. The same bullet could have hit more than one person.
You could also discharge an entire 6-shooter quickly before the first victim falls.
