I loved that growing up in Baltimore they had all these delightful documentaries about rowhouses like they were a nice and good thing.
Then you learn later on that they were basically intended as "servants' quarters". KInda like those sheds ya see there at the back of the plantation.
I'd wager cities with block housing have a higher percentage of blacks than those without. It's exactly the same situation, just on a larger scale.
