I ate quite a few cans of food over the summer that were from 5 to 10 years old.
Of the several cans I opened and ate, I only through a couple of them out because they did not look quite right when I opened them.
They may have been fine to eat.
If you want to stock up on food , whole grain flour(s), unrefined sugar, baking powder, dried rice and beans, canned meats, herbs spices pepper and pink salt, nutritional yeast, raw vinegar, dry milk makes a good foundation.
