Doesn't really matter if America (and several European states) don't take it when the rest of the world is ALREADY close to there at least in terms of masks and lockdowns.

As long as Tedros declares that "we should have a final solution against the pandemic" and orders all countries to lockdown to "curb the spread", almost everyone all over the world save for a few Red States will do exactly that.

I let you consider how "safe" you are by that point.
