Kind of yes, basically bolt actions. But they gave up all their autos in the 90’s I think.
the snipers of stalingrad took on tons of german military with only bolt action rifles ;)
They also got fucked up by the Fins with substandard bolt guns. Fins used to stand frozen dead commies up and nail signs to them.
