I think shills post racist, antisemitic, mysogynist, homophobic and transphobic material as well as calls to violence in forums so that people can publish academic papers about hate speech and extremist content permeating online venues. It is an obvious call to action for even more government tech censorship.

I think some of the online shills are actually the FBI. While in reality they are shaping public opinion against forums that question government narratives, they can always claim that they were following up on reports of possible breeding grounds for domestic terrorists.
