Ok, this is a WEIRD one.
The scene is set in a "countdown supermarket" (actual name) in Auckland where a foriegn nationalist, let's say sri-lanken, with, I don't know, maybe ties to isis or something - goes absolutely nutso bananas and starts stabbing up as many random people as he can get his literally allah praising hands on. It is said he used a knife, but there is no detail on whether the knife was even procured at the store at all.
Despite having many non lethal incapacitation methods at their disposal as well as repeated trainings thereon - the NZ police decided to shoot and kill the assailant instead. He is said to have "isis ideology", for which we have their "scouts honor" as evidence.
In a mostly unrelated story (potentially trying to gain some good press on the back of the recent slogan "Come to "COUNTDOWN!!! Supermarket - where you can reasonably fear being stabbed while shopping" aka "Tick tock motherf*ckers, it's countdown - get out fast!") the supermarket chain where it happened wants to mime empathy so it temporarily bans knives and scissors that probably didn't sell too well anyway. Who buys knives and scissors at the supermarket? Impatient temporary renters with piss poor planning skills, that's who - no one else.
